During the summer, Marzena Milowska, FRSA, and I conducted a remote experiment exploring how emerging AI tools could make the production workflow more accessible to small creative teams of two. Our project tested how a fully virtual team could conceptualize and produce a commercial for Abu Dhabi using generative systems as part of an end-to-end production pipeline.
Working entirely online, we employed Veo 3 for video generation, ChatGPT for narrative structure and character development, Eleven Labs for voice, sound, and music synthesis, and After Effects for compositing and visual effects refinement. This workflow allowed us to simulate a distributed production studio, testing how AI can streamline communication and expand the creative potential of small, remote teams.
Through this process, we examined the intersection of automation, authorship, and creative agency, reflecting on how emerging AI systems might reshape both artistic and commercial media practices.
